First: You are here
After much thought, I've decided to remake Race to Death! Why, you ask? Well, the old art was ... not satisfactory, among other things. I've improved a heck of a lot since first drawing Taki and the others, so I thought it'd be cooler to have a nice, clean slate. While the story will remain mostly the same, I'm going to incorporate some new things to make the comic more interesting, especially visually.
So, here's Taki!

I've changed his design a lot. I won't be drawing the comic with color, but just for reference, he's now completely dark blue (darker than before, he's now almost black) except for his muzzle, which is still silver.
Before I get into the comic itself, I'd like to thank

and

for helping me with anatomy and all sorts of special other things that will make this comic better

You both rock!
So I guess I should stop talking and work on the next page now, yes?

***
LINEART: The lineart looks very clean. Uniform lines, some shaky and unsteady line work but overall, very nicely done.
COMPOSITION: Composition is very linear and follows along the central axis. The pond and lily pads at the base of the canvas provide some variation. Overall, very flat and centered.
CHARACTERS/ANATOMY: The anatomy on the character is nicely done. Paws and legs have good, defined muscle and bend at the correct joints. The action line is a little stiff but is present. Character does seem slightly thin but could be due to the character design. Still, very nicely done.
BACKGROUND: Black and white, no backdrop. Foreground work is minimal.
IN COMPARISON OF OTHERS WORKS BY THE ARTIST: The anatomy is exceptionally well done. The face looks far more realistic than before.
POSSIBLE MEANS OF IMPROVEMENT: Even though Taki looks more realistic, his face lacks expression. I recommend doing a mixture of the old and new, so that he has good expression. The title is also difficult to read when it's sideways. And despite going with a black and white design, you may want to consider either adding just dark shading, and/or varying lineart thickness (closer objects have thicker lineart than far away objects) to add definition.
OVERALL IMPACT: Still overall, despite being a rather "plain" piece, it really shows your improvement in anatomy and overall design and placement. Very nicely done!
